Short answer: No. You only need the computer you already use for your video calls and an internet connection.

What you need

  • A computer (Mac, Windows, or Linux) with a modern web browser
  • A stable internet connection
  • Access to Google Meet or Microsoft Teams

That is all. No studio microphone, external recording device, specialized audio hardware, or any additional equipment is required.

What you do NOT need

  • Professional microphones or audio interfaces
  • External recording devices
  • Dedicated transcription hardware
  • Any software installation on your computer (the bot operates from the cloud)
  • Special audio hardware or sound card

How it works without additional hardware

The bot joins your video call session as a participant. It listens to the call audio directly from the video platform (Google Meet or Teams), without needing to capture audio locally on your machine.

To use CauceOS you only need the computer you already use for video calls. No additional hardware, no local installation. The bot joins the Google Meet or Microsoft Teams session from the cloud.

On audio quality

Transcript quality depends on the quality of the audio in the video call. For best results:

  • Use a headset with a built-in microphone (reduces echo and background noise)
  • Speak in an environment with little ambient noise
  • Maintain a good internet connection to prevent audio dropouts
