Does CauceOS work without an internet connection?
No. CauceOS is a cloud service that requires an active internet connection to join the video call, process the live transcript, and generate alerts.
Short answer: No. CauceOS is a cloud service. It requires an active internet connection for all functions during the session.
Why an internet connection is required
CauceOS operates as a cloud bot that:
- Joins your video call session (requires internet)
- Processes audio in real time to generate the transcript (requires internet)
- Analyzes the transcript to trigger alerts (requires internet)
- Displays question suggestions in your dashboard (requires internet)
There is no local or installable version that works without a connection. The service architecture is cloud-native.
What happens if the connection drops
If the internet connection drops during a session:
- The bot leaves the video call automatically
- The transcript up to that point is saved in your account
- Live alerts and suggestions stop working
- You can resume the session when the connection is restored, but the bot will need to rejoin
CauceOS requires an active internet connection throughout the session. The system processes audio, generates transcription, triggers alerts, and displays suggestions in real time from the cloud. There is no offline mode or local installation. CauceOS Help Center
Connectivity recommendations
For an uninterrupted session:
- Use a wired (ethernet) connection whenever possible
- If using Wi-Fi, ensure you are close to the router
- Verify your bandwidth is sufficient for a video call plus the bot as an additional participant (typically 5 Mbps up/down is sufficient)
