What should I do if I find an error in the transcript?

You can edit any transcript fragment directly in the session panel before generating the report. Changes are recorded and the original transcript is preserved.

Short answer: Click the fragment with the error, edit the text, and save. Changes are recorded. The original transcript is also preserved.

How to edit the transcript

  1. Open the session in the CauceOS dashboard
  2. Locate the fragment with the error
  3. Click the text you want to correct
  4. Edit the text directly in the edit field
  5. Save the change

Changes apply immediately. The post-session report uses the edited transcript when you generate it after making corrections.

What you can correct

  • Words or phrases transcribed incorrectly
  • Incorrect speaker assignment (see Can CauceOS confuse similar voices?)
  • Punctuation or paragraph formatting
  • Fragments the system could not transcribe clearly due to low-quality audio

The original transcript is preserved

CauceOS keeps both the edited transcript and the original. If you ever need to revert to the original version, you can access it from the same session panel.

To correct an error in a CauceOS transcript: click the fragment in the session panel, edit the text, and save. Changes are recorded with a timestamp. The original transcript is also preserved for reference. The report is generated using the edited version. CauceOS Help Center

When to review before generating the report

Automatic transcription has high accuracy in clean audio conditions, but may have errors with:

  • Uncommon proper names
  • Highly specialized clinical terminology
  • Audio with echo, background noise, or overlapping voices
  • Pronounced regional accents

Reviewing the transcript before generating the report takes 2 to 5 minutes and ensures the final document accurately reflects the session.
