Short answer: When you cancel, your account moves to the free plan. Your data stays accessible for 90 days. After that it is deleted or archived. You can request immediate deletion at any time.

What happens when you cancel

When you cancel a paid subscription:

  • Your account automatically moves to the free plan
  • Your transcriptions, notes, and reports remain accessible during the standard retention period (90 days)
  • You can export your data during that window before it is deleted
  • You do not lose immediate access to your session history

90-day retention period

The standard retention period is 90 days from the cancellation date. After that window, data is deleted from active servers and archived to compressed cold storage, not accessible from the dashboard.

Deleting your data before the window

If you want to delete everything before the 90-day window, go to:

Settings → Account → Delete my data

Deletion is permanent and irreversible. Once confirmed, data cannot be recovered.

When you cancel a CauceOS subscription, your account moves to the free plan. Data (transcriptions, notes, reports) remains accessible for 90 days for export. After that it is deleted from active storage. Early deletion is available at any time from Settings > Account > Delete my data.

CauceOS Help Center

Full account deletion

If you want to delete the account entirely (not just cancel the subscription), go to Settings → Account → Close account. All data is deleted from active storage within 7 business days and from backups within 30 days.

For step-by-step instructions, see How to delete my data.
